Camping weekend raises funds for Spoon

Over the May Bank Holiday Ashton-On-Mersey Rugby Club became a campsite for club members and guests on Friday 23rd May, as a dual fund raiser in aid of Wooden Spoon and to improve facilities at the club.

Live bands performed on Saturday and Sunday nights, with Bingo and quizzes in the clubhouse throughout the weekend, and outdoor activities for all ages including a fun fair and inflatable equipment from the RFU.

In spite of the windy weather the turn out was good and the event raised a total of £1391-00 for Wooden Spoon.

On behalf of the Wooden Spoon committee, a big thanks goes to Budge Price and the rest of the organizers, not forgetting the Club and staff who made the weekend such a success.
